looks like something is eating the green (chlorophyl) out of the leaves … Leaf-miner?

I am inclined to agree with Meagi and if it is caterpillars, Pyrethrum spray will wipe them out.

Looks like Chinese elm so could be Elm leaf beetle. Both adults and the larvae eat leaves of most elm species but they drop off the leaves and hide whenever something comes near so can be hard to spot - you might need to sneak up quietly to see them at it.
They like English elm best so do not do much damage to the Chinese elms and i don't worry too much about a few chewed leaves. Confidor is registered to control Elm leaf beetles if you find out it is them doing the damage.

Thanks for the help guys

I have seen few green caterpillars after searching for hours and this seems to be happening to my maples and figs but not the junipers. So I think ill get some spray
