Hi Guys,
I would like to go to Melbourne/Sydney and buying some nice pots(Round, Drum etc) but look for the special, extraordinaire (Exhibition) pots. Not larger then 35cm diameter.
Where to go??? :lost: Can be japanese, australian made......just good quality!

And being dependent on Public Transport may certainly limit my choice!? :( :(

Also anybody knows a good bed and breakfast in Melbourne/ Sydney??

Would appreciate of any help, advice especially from you folks in the east!! ;)

Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards
Rolf

Hey mate,

Last time I was in Sydney, I used the Ausbonsai directory to visit as many places as I could :) Its perfect for that!

I didn't get to see them all, but I remember Ray Nesci's had a pretty decent selection of pots, and even some from our local artists, so that'd definatley be worth a look :)

Am sure some of the local members will be able to suggest more :fc:

My mum lives in Sydney, so I visit her quite regularly. When I'm over there and out with her, I'll bust out the directory on my phone and say "Oh look mum, there is a bonsai store only right around the corner, how convenient!" hahahaha works most of the time :P

Definately handy, and gives a small description on what the store might stock :tu:

There is also a couple of nice japanese gardens around sydney too, which have small displays of bonsai. I keep meaning to make a post about the gardens, as I took quite a few pics on my last trip :)

Check the directory for the Nursery locations, but with Sydney getting to them will be hard by pt :-(

Ray Nesci stocks pots by Pat K, Mudlark, Japanese and Chinese imports,
Bonsai environment has a larger range of chinese pots mainly.

Never been but i assume Leong will have a good range too.

Rolfstsr unfortunately none of the bonsai nurseries in Sydney are easy to access via public transport, ray nescis probably being the most difficult. Megumi Bennett and bonsai south would both involve a train and bus at the least if not a good walk on top. I believe megumi Bennett had a range of quality Japanese pots.

Maybe plan your trip around the ausbonsai garage sale-much easier to get to by public transport!!!
