Love the movement in this one, looks great, I have saved it to my inspiration file.

As Grant suggests, round or hexagonal pot, maybe a bit deep. If it were mine, I'd reduce the roots in a couple of stages - others might be a bit more gung-ho.
I like the balance between foliage and trunk a bit more in the earlier photo - maybe consider that the less foliage there is, the more the trunk can stand out.
Nice tree. Thanks for posting.

Beautiful tree, can see this in an oval container, planted to the left. This tree deserves a special container. The negative space beneath the branches draws a person in.
Will be interesting to see what the roots look like when you get to repotting, I'm with Gavin would proceed with caution.
Please keep us posted when you decide to repot?

Hi there,
A nice little juniper with some exceptional features

but I am thinking you need to develop the root flare at the base of the tree before concerning yourself with bonsai pots for it.
Thanks for sharing it with us.
Cheers,
Brad.

Its currently potted relatively deep in this plastic pot, so it will be interesting to see what sort of root system it has.
I don't know of many junipers with good root flare/nabari.

I recently potted this one for the first time.

Really a lovely tree but you are right, the pot does it no justice at all. it is difficult matching tree and pot and a great skill in itself. Love your other threads by the way your trees are of a high quality.

Nice tree. Time for some shari and a smaller shallower round pot?? I can also see a bit of ''lightening'' up to balance the trunk thickness.

Yes mate, Shari was done last weekend in a workshop with Koji who also picked out a shallower round pot for it.
I will post a pick once I get around to repotting it.
