My only advice would be to make sure you view the tree in person before committing to that sort of $$$

I've seen where this tree is.
My humble advise is that if your prepared to spend near too the current asking price or even the prices mentioned in this thread that you go to a reputable nursery first.
At least via personal viewing at a decent nursery you can take the guess work out of a purchase and proceed with more confidence.
Have you been to all the Bonsai Nurseries around town yet Ross?

Hey boics,
Yeah sure this tree is over priced, just didn't want to say too much more about it incase the seller is on the forum.
( I'm Sure they would be, this is the place to be if you love bonsai

)
It would be a nice tree at the right price...
As far as nurseries go I've been to a fair few around Melbourne but
think I'll just head down and see Tien @ bonsaisensation.
Plenty of quality down there & a TOP bloke as well!
Thanks for the advice
Ross

Second that, Tien is a great bloke and has amazing quality stock. I have infinite respect for this man.
Very reasonably priced too, you'll do well there.

Hi Mo
For what you are going to pay, first thing is check basic structure start from the bottom to the top. If you can slip it out of the pot look at the root below the ground. But that's what I would do for that amount of $'s.
Cheers Rod

How about this one, asking $290? Isn't it a better choice or not?

I like the first tree better. the ebay tree has movement but no taper and there is no picture of the roots. I wouldn't pay $290 for this tree.
