Here's the olive potted up after a couple of days soaking. A lot of olives are putting on growth around perth at the moment and this one was no exception . I Dug this one in 10 mins which i was happy about as it wasn't far off the great southern Hwy! I Have deliberately left the top longer then intended and will cut back to an appropriate future leader lower down in a Year or 2.

will do a vert when i can but I'm pretty sure you can see where this is going. However any suggestions will be carefully considered!

May have to find one of these olives to add to my growing 'test' collection. My problem is I wouldn't know one if it jumped out & hit my car....
Off to study them.....
Cheers
**EDIT**
Newb question: are these the African olives that seem to be labelled weeds all over the place?

I'm in the mount Annan area and they are EVERYWHERE! You cannot drive for 5 minutes and not see bucket loads of them

Agreed Andrew. Aussie definitely got the better of the deal. Olea Africana is supreme bonsai material. Very hard and durable wood with a beautiful grain.
Them pesky wattles do have one use though..... kindling for Firewood
