Got a hoselink rain shower nozzle

While at the show the hoselink people were just up from us. I decided to buy their rainwater wand. I am very happy with the fine spray and amount of water it puts out. The only down side is the wand could be longer but it's ok. Just watered my trees and it puts out a good amount of water.
One thing I'm wondering, could the water run through the mix easier being finer. Maybe it's just cause I've been away but it seems to fill the pot quickly and flow through quickly.

If you want to see how much your trees grow, go away for two weeks and come home too

trees going crazy and weeds, weeds, weeds

I can see a big week coming up. The difference in some trees is incredible.

I know what you mean mate. It's like painting the Harbour Bridge. When you get to the end you need to start all over again.

Not necessarily.
Finer mix may clog up quicker and thus have longer to drain.
A courser mix may keep less water in the pot and thus dry out quicker
Depends on the individual pots

When I water with this fine wand it seems to soak in faster than with the heavier wand. The mix hasn't changed. Maybe I'm just tired and its soaking in the same

Josh,
Mate have a Dramm with a small nozzle( finer spray),not really sure whether the water delivery make a big deal of difference. I think it's in the mix with good drainage is very important. I also believe that a good soak about once a month at least is also very important to get moisture to the centre of the root ball, this will help keep an even distribution of moisture.
Cheers Rod

My Minister for Domestic Affairs and I have been negotiating on going to the Hose Link stuff (mainly the retractable hose reels) but I wasn't aware of their full range and that Wand is looking much better than the Kmart nozzle we have!
RE: the finer mix … could that not be that MORE water is getting thru the wand and therefore presenting more volume to the trees?! More volume = filling up the pots faster = faster flow-thru … Just a thought.

I would definitely recommend the hoselink products. We have good pressure and I blew a few hoses before. This ain't never coming apart now

The wand does put out a good amount of water which is quite fine. Doesn't wash the soil out like my old wand did if you weren't careful.

Have been using Hoselink for about 10 years and very happy.
I have an attachment on my dramm wand that fits to the hose.
Cheers

Have been using Hoselink for a few years and have not had much luck with them, first lot I bought had a product recall on them, and then they seem to keep leaking between the two O rings after a bit of use, found I have gone back to the high quality brass fittings that the sun cannot damage, but the Dramm is quality and lasts forever, I have the misting nozzle which is good for both bonsai and my orchids, funny how people have different experiences with products isn`t it.
