A question was posed by one of our members he has more posts than me. Asus aka Ben.
Why do people put there S#*t on the raffle table. My answer was one mans S#*t is another mans jewel.
Or words to that affect!!. The reason for this post is to all clubs and members support is a way of ensuring YOUR CLUB remains viable and can give the members! you, what you want and need.
The Bonsai Society of Western Australia is holding the A A B C seminar in 2011. We need support and funds.
Every year we have in August an auction to raise funds for the club. So this is an invitation to all West Australians who are able and any interstate visitors to attend bring your wallets with you.
Here is a sample of what will be on offer. The Address is the Collins Street community hall South Perth. 7-30 pm for viewing start at 8-pm. Now some pics Being an Auction it is up to you what you spend.

Old man, its raffle plants not auction plants that are commonly complete rubbish.
Besides golden oldy bonsai and logic dont mix, after all people would rather pay 500$ to a grand on bad stock than pay the same for a fully styled piece of art.

Thanks for the invite, but it looks like I will be stuck on the other side of the continent.
Is that a Geraldton wax in the second photo? Any experience with them as bonsai?

Yes Pasquale it is a Geraldton Wax ( Chamelaucium uncinatum) red pink or white flowers!!.
This is confusing sometimes as some of the other species have the same colour flowers.
I treat these the same as Callistemon ( bottle brush ) so if you have success with them you should not have any trouble.
I believe most Bonsai enthusiasts grow them in the East.
They are Drought and frost tender. I am sorry you cant make it.

No I do not in the past when I had them I found them to be very forgiving. This one is a long term project as it needs to have the foliage brought back as with most natives I find it is better to cut back to green foliage the let it develop new growth. As I said treat them like Bottle brush. Another very nice one to try is Thyptomene. Very similar small leaves and flowers. I had a couple of both varieties two I was offered what I could not refuse, the others went courtesy of the five fingered discout brigade, before hot wire to keep the animals in. That's great! Thanks mate. I'll be there with bells on. Incidently...is the 'Workshop' having a sale like the one last year? (when I got that Callistemon of Alf's )
as I haven't been to many meetings this year I've been abit out of the loop.

Not that I know of. As you know I have been missing in action too. Then a bloody wog. Youngest daughter has it and it is a worry at the moment.

Veiwing time from 7pm Cash or cheque to known people. There will be some nice stuff on offer and the Auctioneer keeps it moving, also has some fun with all involved so, if you can make we would love to see you there and help you part with your money.
