Pot selection for wisteria

I have been looking for a new pot for this wisteria
BSV 2011 show 008.jpg
Lots of different ideas,
I would like something more feminine
A dark colour would contrast well with the white flowers
A green pot will blend with the leaves and still contrast reasonably with the flowers
Would a white pot work?
Perhaps a brown pot will blend with the bark and be a simple option but perhaps boring?
I have been to lots of places looking for a nice glazed pot but perhaps I am too fussy. The Victorian Native Club show, the Bendigo and Mornington Peninsula shows, Collectors Corner, Bonsai Art and Orient Bonsai.

Dark green will do it for me.

Round with a turned out rounded lip. Similar dimensions to the one you have possibly.

I think Ken's shape sounds nice.
I'm of the opinion that a light blue or light brown / beige pot will be nice.

If you can be bothered a few pot virts is always good!

Ps. Lovely tree. Do the flowers stay white?

Something really 'oriental' would be good. like this hexagonal pot:

Hi Gerard,

Lovely Wisteria, here are a few rough ideas for you. Great photo too, it makes doing virts a joy without having background noise to compete with.

Thanks for that effort David
#2 is exactly what I have been looking for
I also like #6 but suspect it is the same pot photoshopped to change the colour

Hi Gerard, lovely Wisteria!
Great job by David with his virts :tu:
For us it would be GW1 and GW2 purely from an overall composition point - colour, shape and stability.
However, Wisterias grow and flower best pot bound in deeper pots as its in at the moment and from that point of view it would be GW7 in a different colour!!! ;)

Cheers,
R&M

I have settled on something a little different, a "Trevor Wheeler" pot I picked up at the Victorian Native Club show. I was sitting here the whole time while I was looking foe a glazed pot. I think it works well but will see how I feel about it when it is in flower.

Bit off topic
Is the "Golden Shower" tree (Cassia fistula) suitable as Bonsai Material?

Just had my wife look over my shoulder and had three instant requests: Jacaranda, Wisteria and Golden Shower trees!

Better get busy! How do they fare in hot sub-tropical climate like Port Hedland? I know I have seen the Golden Shower up here but not too many of the other two ... :lost:

The Jacaranda would look awesome in a group setting … never considered a group before, but that sounds pretty good - if it worx! :?:

So many good options.
Well done Dave! Gotta say though that I'm not sure it had helped me! I like most of them!

2,3 and 4 are standouts though I reckon.

-thanking Gerard  for this post---I have a white wisteria airlayered from the giant in the garden----the garden plant is relatively boring ( not being pink or mauve)and assumed the airlayer would be unexciting also--after seeing this post photo ,my interest is renewed --now I also need to find an appropriate pot.- the possibilities for this wisteria are now "endless" .
