I certainly like the first and believe I'll like the 2nd one as well!

The second , large pot is modelled from a hollow stump . It is very close in colour to the first pot shown . Here are a couple of different angles . Graham

I absolutely love where you are going with this style for the 2nd one. I had no idea what I was even looking at until you showed more pics. I just feel that that particular one doesn't float my boat, just because it looks odd to me with the raised boomerang look. I love the middle section of it, and I love the idea behind it. But if it was even more 'natural' looking I would love it, perhaps with a more larger area to one side of it and not as raised as much, or perhaps just with a more curved around the horizontal would be more to my liking, but thats just my If I wasn't so bankrupt at the moment and I saw different styles of these, I would probably buy one at a potter display.

This big pot is definitely different ( although I built one quite similar today) . As to looking natural it is modelled from a natural tree trunk and is very close in appearance . There will be variations on the theme , watch this space . I am sure that when the person who has the right tree spots this pot they will buy it and create a masterpiece . Graham

A couple more from the last firing . More in the pipeline this week . Anyone interested in burls as pots ? I have worked out (I almost said 'perfected') a good method for sealing the inside of a hollowed wooden piece . Graham

A burl as a pot? That is interesting, it'd be nice to see it I'd think.

. I have a couple of burls I would like to seal and develop as pots, so am very interested in hearing how you go about it.

The compound I use to seal burls and logs is one that I developed and it is 'commercial in confidence ' at least for the time being . I already have a couple of trees in burls they have a natural look and it is no different to having a tree in a ceramic pot . The timber pot will certainly not last a thousand years , but by the time it rota away I don't think I will be worried about it .

Hi Graham, nice work I particularly like the look of the pot photographed at the bottom right of your home page captioned "Close up of a 300mm round with two of our most popular glazes."

Also, you mention "thunder eggs" ... I'd love to see what creations you've come up with using them
