Swamp Cypress Sydney

I have a large swamp cypress that I would like to try and turn into a twin trunk. I't about a meter tall and very healthy. It will take some fairly drastic carving - when is the best time to attempt this in Sydney?

Hi deepblue,
Would you be able to post a photo? This would allow us to see the tree. My Swamp Cyprus's are putting out foliage very well at the moment, so I wouldn't hesitate in carving them at this time. I'm intrigued what the carving is related to with it being a twin trunk.

Regards Ray

Unfortunately I don't have any with me at work but this is what I am trying to achieve:

Wow Deepblue

I want one too, it looks great.

Would you do a vertical cut from the top down to ground level ?

Hey Fiona,

I'm still trying to work out exactly what my plan of attack is but I think I will follow the example fairly closely, my swampie looks pretty similar to the one in the example before the major work.
