Hey folks,

I am planning on re-potting this fig in the next week or so and was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on the pot it will go into. I have 2 options at the moment and see merit in both, and would like to see what other people think is the best option.

Here's option 1

And option 2

Looking forward to everyone's thoughts,

This might help.....

All 3 look pretty decent to me.
No real "standout" for mine.

Hmm I'm going against the grain and think second option. For me you lose the power of the trunk with the white one..

I prefer the second option, shallow glazed ovals are perfect for Figs :tu:
Though it is more of a show pot ... while the tree is still in training I would keep it in the pot it is currently in to benefit root growth.

White, or keep it in the current one.
It may be a struggle to get it into the shallow one.

Remove the weeds, scrape away a bit of the soil and put the tree in each pot and see what the look is. Take a photo as photos are harsher than the eye and really show bad points or hold it in front of mirror. Then make your decision.

Cheers for the opinions folks,

I was leaning toward the lighter pot as well, I'll wait till it leafs out fully and pot it up

Ps. Sorry about the weeds, I haven't bothered to weed as I knew it was coming out anyway :palm:

I agree about the weeds, and about the white pot.
The colour of the white pot suits the pale colour of the tree, and the other pot is both too shallow, and too blue.
Just my 2 cents and already been said.
Time for another beer...

I love the look of shallow pots, but I think figs are very thirsty and the blue one may not hold enough moisture through summer.

The fig will look good in all the pots. Figs, tend to have very strong roots and root growth. Typically they are potted in medium depth pots because of this. I would imagine that the existing and the white/beige pots are medium depth. I would repot in the white/beige pot. It is a great tree and will look good in either pots actually, but the beige pot is a bit shallower, improving the perception of strength in the tree.
