I have been given this firethorn and would love to hear suggestions on what to do with it.
As a newbie I am hesitant to make the leap without some ideas, and while I love it, I keep looking at it thinking something is not quite right
Thanks in anticipation

Looks fine to me. To have two years fruit on the tree is fascinating. Keep it outside, fertilized and watered and I am sure it will continue to reward you. Just give it a trim where the branched grow outside the profile.

Not much wrong with that one except starting to get away withthe new growth.
the shoot at the top left is a classic to cut back, and all the little shoots on the trunk are also a problem.
The top left one, trim back to the first or second bunch of leaves to bring it back to the foliage outline.
The ones on the trunk, if you want to grow a branch there then keep them. if not then trim or rub them off.

Thanks Ken,
I have trimmed the top left and a couple of others like you suggested.
How far do I go with the small shoots coming off the trunk?
Should I leave any in your opinion?
Cheers
