Willow wired down

I got this Willow mid this year and looking at it I wasn't very excited by it at all.

It is a very vigorous grower with cane shoots almost to a meter (so no photo as I got stuck right into it)

It was literally a tree in a pot very uneasy on the eyes.

This afternoon I decided to give it its first rework to at least give it scope and direction and hacked everything back.

Below photo is the Willow after all cane shoots were removed

New front and wires to be pulled further down next rework.

Lol, made me laugh - "I wasn't very excited by it at all"
I find that with almost every one of my trees at the beginning... Sometimes they show me, but that first picture looks as confusing as to where to start as most of mine do.
Seeing the second picture, it looks much more developed and going places! Did you drill screws into your tree?

From the photos I prefer the original front. Nice tree :tu2:

Yea this one really had me scratching :lost:

Grew too fast and bushy.. only thing its got going for it was that the cane shoots are contorted with natural twists and turns as willows do

So i decided to give it a bad hair cut buy just removing everything and yes I certainly screwed some into it

The original front had a sexier nebari underneath but the new angle now poses new challenges..

The top will need to be reworked when I have the appropriate tools

10 days on and this Willow has really back budded so well which will come very handy.
