Downsprays

For anyone setting up a watering system for their trees and going through the process of working out what micro irrigation nozzles/drippers/shrubblers are most suitable, I think I've found the perfect nozzle for individual trees in pots. They are called C-Frame Downsprays by a mob called Antelco.

I tried a few different adjustable nozzles but none of them really worked. Adjusting the spray pattern down too far gave inconsistant results and too high meant most of the spray missed the pot. The downsprays are mounted on a stake in the pot and spray a fine heavy mist, in a full circle but in a downward 45degree angle.

I plugged mine in last night for a quick trial they look ideal!

Unfortunately Ken, they were a bit hard to track down in Aust - I ordered mine from this site: http://www.diygardener.com.au/ and they arrived within a couple of days. I believe they are distributed by Toro here in Aust so any reseller should be able to get them in - I think they have a list of resellers on their website.

The stakes that came attached to the ones I purchased are a bit large and bulky for bonsai pots(unlike the ones in the video) so I will probably replace them with something more suitable - the nozzles are the shizzle though. ;)
