I'm wanting to buy some juniper or a maple seed to grow from a seed where would I buy in adelaide?

Shibui supplies maple seeds but think you're a bit late to germinate them now.

My research says junipers have a very low germination rate from seed, best off propagating from cuttings. I tried with seeds this year and didn't get a single one to sprout (bought online, got crab apple seeds from the same place and got plenty of them going)
Maples are a lot easier, you'd be best getting fresh seeds in autumn though, as bonsaifan suggested it's past time for them this year. If you can get a decent quantity from a local tree then I wouldn't even worry about stratifying the seeds, just plant and wait for spring.
My partner thinks I should grow all my trees from seed as it's the cheapest way, but it's a long road. Should be worth it in the end though

I just threw out all the seed I had from last autumn. I'm sure it would have germinated just fine but nobody is usually interested this late in the season. There's still lots of small trident seedlings in the garden. I sent some bare rooted (with leaves) to SA last spring and the report is they have all survived.
Agree with phoenix. Junipers much better from cuttings.

Yep, the ones I got are going good (besides the ones my 2yo kept pulling out) only thing was they broke dormancy a couple weeks later than the one I grew from seed, must have been adjusting to the new climate.
