Meet the swamp thing

From the day I bought this (From the old Bakers Creek nursery in Mackay) about ten years ago it screamed at me swamp mangrove.
It was only about 1/2 to 2/3 of the size it is now but I put it in this pot not soon after. The pot is concrete and I manufactured a rock wall out of sandstone slate pieces and bathroom grout so I had a water feature for the tree to lean over.
Its about as close to penjing as I think I will get.

I removed 35 branchlets off this today and wired a good portion of what was left, haven't done anything with this for probably 3 years.

G'Day Watty, I quite like it - the mangrove effect is there straight away! All you need is a small fiddler crab. Ash

Looks an awful like the ovate leaf version of the Green Island fig to me - commonly referred to as the Long Island fig :2c:

Looks great, I think the concrete pot suits it perfectly.
