Look what I found in the bush on 7 Dec .
It was attached to a big tree, starting to strangle it, next to the dam, in sandy soil which is wet most of the time.
The back was glued to the tree, and there were lots of aerial roots, fused to its trunk.

This is now my biggest tree.
I put it in the shade so the new leaves have grown very big, but they are plenty shoots all over the branches. I also chopped the big trunk going up and I will make some more toys from it.

Thanks Baba K, I was jumping up and down when I found it. Up to now I was just cutting big branches and planting them.

That day I dug two trees. I know I am a bad example but I dig trees all year round. That day on 7 Dec (out of season) I dug another tree also. Look how it is growing now a month later.

Ken the first one is some kind of fig. Strangler fig. Stopped identifying them now. I have collected so many different types from the bush and the biggest expert in the world that I know of, failed to ID many of them.
The second tree also unknown. but it is a single trunk with a shari in the middle.

Wow ! Great finds. You should make videos and upload them on youtube. I would definately be a subscriber. A few people on here have enough great material to be able to make videos. I cant do it yet. There are many Stranglers out here but they are mostly on Nature Reserves. I'm on the lookout though. Very cool though!

There are many people like myself that like tips on how to harvest differant species. And video of the process of digging it out. I watch videos like that on Youtube. And then they make update videos on the recovery etc. It was just a thought.

OK Darling ! I get it now. I am a bit slow some times. He he he!
Just a little info on this tree. I cut off the roots that were going around the tree, so I can remove it. Figs are too easy. You can even take it without any roots and it will grow.
Because I was finding too big ones up to now, I was just chopping branches up to 20 cm diameter from up the tree. Most of them are growing. Big root cuttings also grow.
And I am a sister, brother. He he he!
