Hey guys and girls. Yet another olive in my collection. Better slow it down 150 trees in only 4 years

mostly just crap that needs to grow

anyway I got this tree from the side of the road in early april 2014. I was driving with the old man and saw the olive on the side of the road. I told him to turn around and we will just have a look

you know what that means

as I pulled over and had a look I said ill just scratch around and see how well its anchored. a couple minutes later and I said you have anything to dig with. Well 20 mins later and some serious sweat we had it out using a screwdriver and a hammer. Only just got the tailgate shut on all the foliage as had nothing to trim it back. At this point the old man looked at me like I am seriously mad

got it home and potted it up and it has grown well since. Gave it its first trim and style on the weekend. It has a long way to go but this is it for now. There are a few straight sections on the trunks but will use foliage to cover the worst of it in the future.

it would have been hilarious to film you digging that out with a screwdriver should buy a military fold up shovel and keep it in the boot inside the spare tire will come in very handy when you come across these finds but looking great will turn out to be a great bonsai

Bit of an update. Been a while. Growing well but still in need of a lot more growth to fill in some areas. Happy with it so far.

Looks great. Do your trees bear olives as bonsai?

None seem too have olives. Not sure why. Even the proper olive trees that used to bear fruit now do not. Maybe its the trimming back not sure. Maybe someone else with more knowlage can answer that one for ya.
