The Townsville club had asked that I do a demo on tree carving as very little of it has been attempted by their members.
The club is enthusiastic and if anyone reading should be in Townsville, they meet the first Sunday of each month and can always use some fresh blood in their membership.

I was sent a photo of the tree a week beforehand so I knew what I was challenged with.
The tree is a Murraya (Mock Orange)

The demonstration was received very enthusiastically and was enjoyed by all members

explaining this was only the first of possibly two or three attempts, this being to remove visual bulk and add depth, and refining could come later.
