Hi all, this pear group, or as it is now known, 3 pears and a quince... is still going, and I am thinking about doing an overhaul this winter... maybe... so I have several options.. I can remove the quince, and leave it as a 3 tree group, I can add another quince, and leave it as a mixed group, I can always airlayer off the top of the main tree, to gain another pear... an option to be considered, I do think that that main pear is too straight, and possibly an air layer might be a good idea there... hmmm, suggestions??

we can always wander down to the pear digging spot and see if there are any more lonely pear trees just laying about.

what about we get you a better quince as well, and then this orphan could go to another orphanage. room and board could be arranged though.

Hmmm, just when I'd decided to sell this group on.... QV praises it as a good group, and points out that my trees are getting better and better... what do you do with a group that "HE" praises....

Wow paddles, I had never thought of doing an "edible group Bonsai" I know traditionally a group is usually one tree type, but imagine doing a 'fruit salad group' eg 1 pear, 1 apple, 1 peach, 1 apricot, 1 pomegranate, 1 Mulberry . Traditions are there to reclaim and twist into new traditions....oh shoot just had a thought, how about a multi-graft bonsai fruit tree or multi-graft citrus tree group?.

the quince was a slipup.. it was thought to be a pear... (but it's grown...) lots of people do grafts... ie crab apple onto an apple trunk... I have an apricot here.. maybe I should do a fruit group... a mini orchard group???

Thats what I thought of whilst I was typing my last post to you, I just had another thought whilst I was outside smoking my cigar and sipping a whiskey, do many vines get bonsai eg Grape, Passionfruit, Kiwi Fruit, etc

passionfruit and kiwi would have too large a leaf.. grape does get done
Many fruit trees get too large a leaf
