Nights have started to get a bit cool at Yackandandah. I'm starting to see the first signs of the season changing. A few of my trees changed colour a bit earlier due to stress but these ones are definitely the start of the autumn display.

Please feel free to add more photos of autumn colour as it occurs in your area.

The deciduous trees have been quite slow to colour up this season. We have had plenty of good sunny days but few cold nights so far.
This week a few trees have started to show some colours. Hope you enjoy a look at these.

This trident group coloured early and has already dropped a lot of leaves.

While the other group right beside it has hardly changed yet.

Some of the smaller tridents are changing colour:

This is the one I entered in the Shohin comp but missed the final deadline while we were in WA looking at wildflowers

Very nice, I particularly like the first group's colour

some of the wild trees around here started turning a month ago, some are only just starting now.

Only colour I got are couple of leaves on my 5" Taiwan Maple, 5" Nesci Sparky (some), 5" trident maple (partially), 10" Chinese Elm (only couple) and 10" Trident (all green still)
Such a long time and I don't even think its going to change at all this month

Not much colour yet here but lousy weather, My LiquidAmbar has a few yellow coloured leaves but many getting stirpped off with the wind and rain.
My White bougy is pretty nice though but suffering with the deluge

I've been enjoying the autumn colours around here for the last month, but forgot to take any decent photo's! This is what I've got

Silver maples

This tree in our yard has dropped a red/purple carpet of leaves all over the lawns

Had these two ratbags "helping" me rake up all those leaves!

We finally had a frost last week but also some rain so autumn colour is still slow to develop and nowhere near as intense as usual. Here are a few more pictures as the trees move toward winter.

This one is still a bit green on the front because that side has been shaded

The colour on the back is more advanced

This triple trunk trident has just about finished but is an interesting case. Originally started from 3 seedlings they are now well joined at the base. The trunk on the left buds earlier in spring and changes colour earlier in autumn every year so there must be some genetic factors that control deciduous trees. Makes it a bit hard to get a good, uniform early spring or autumn display
