A few azaleas

I look after the gardens at our local retirement village. They have a program of renovations and extensions for the older units and I get to remove any plants that are in the way of the builders
Whoever first planted the gardens around 30 years ago seems to have liked azaleas so there are quite a few around the village.
Here's one that I think has some potential to take a bit further.

Do you use cut paste when pruning azaleas?

These were all pruned pretty hard when they were dug out of the gardens. No cut paste applied but all have survived and grown on.
Now that they are growing well I will use cut paste to seal future large pruning cuts. Not for the health of the plant but because I have shown that it does speed up healing of cuts.
