Mushishi: Thanks - those are natural granite slabs that I collected from the bush. Very effective but also very heavy !

Ditto... love the Mels on that slab. Great work, looking forward to updates over time. Ditch the exotics and stick with the natives...Just kidding.... sort of.

As they get bigger though, you're either going to have to move them further apart for sun, or find a bigger slab. But those slabs look amazing.

Thanks Bonsaibuddyman . I've got quite a few native groups on the go. Melaleuca(s) raphiophylla and cuticularis, as well as some Grevillea and Callitris. I'm looking forward to their development very much

Point taken about the slabs. The forests were done as a bit of an experiment. I was quite pleased with the way they turned out so I thought I'd leave them a while to see how they progress. I'll take your advice and get bigger slabs when the need arises - which if they continue at their present rate of growth - won't be too far into the future !

Onetree, I'm almost certain it's a Hinoki cypress. The seedlings look nothing like the mature tree from which I collected the seed. Similar to chinese juniper in that respect. Spikes turn into scales as the foliage matures.
