THE LIVE VEIN

Hi all!

todays whilst I was working a shari into a juniper I got very very close to eliminating the live vein of the tree. For now I have buried the point of the tree into a lot more soil as I panicked, however my question is; Is there a minimum size the live vein must be? Is it possible for the live vein to be, too small?

Without a doubt you can cut too much at once and kill everything above where this happens.

Generally we cut small amounts each year to achieve the desired thickness.

As has been stated, a photo would aid in answering whether you have cut too much.
