What is the reason for wrapping raffia on the first branch? I cannot see much difference in the angle, maybe it was brought forward or backward?

Considered apex only as well as first branch only but the straight section of trunk will need a little foliage to cover it

could a solid branch bender be used( over a couple of seasons) to give that straight section some movement-- does anyone here use trunk or branch benders
