Is rain good or bad on pruning wounds?

Hi ausbonsai. I've just recently done some practice shari on some needle juniper (2 -3weeks ago). My technique was pretty brutal. I just grabbed a branch with the pliers and sort of wound it and pulled it down. Getting a bit of light rain and it made me think if I should be putting them under cover when it rains ? Or could this "natural water" be somehow beneficial to the healing? Like swimming at the beach seems to heal cuts and grazes faster?

Junipers have a resinous sap that naturally seals it's wounds. The bloody stuff is a nightmare to wash off.
