Root Growth - Pine

I wasn't exactly sure where to put this topic, but it is a progression of sorts.
This is just a few years in the life of a Scott Pine, and show just how much the root growth in the pot and under the surface is. This is just an interest post but it is quite interesting the amount of growth in a relatively short period of time. This pine was dug from a garden in October 2012 and was potted into a bonsai training pot, the soil surface was well below the top of the pot and has been in the same pot there ever since and that is the first photo. I was lucky to get the opportunity to dig this pine so my intention was to take in slow and steady. The second photo in December 2014 shows the soil surface at the top of the pot and in my opinion the tree is looking much better with a "greener" disposition (healthier). The last photo was taken June 2015 and the tree has grown out of the pot considerably.
OK I know its time for a re-pot and that will happen, soon.
