Help to ID This Tree

So this tree has been growing out the front of my parents house for as long as I can remember. It has had numerous trunk chops back to a small stump and it just sprouts new growth every where. It has also been poisoned several times and it just wont die (to my Mums displeasure). It lives in full sun and quite dry soil.
I was wondering if anyone could help me with an ID? And would it be worth the dig?

Can't help with an ID but probably worth digging it out just to make your Mum happy!!?!

It'll probably grow back from the roots I leave in the ground...

I'm thinking very similar leaf shape to robinia. Also makes sense If a been poisoned and keeps coming back.

The leaf arrangement is "Alternate" whereas the robinia is "Opposite".

I don't think I've ever seen it with fruits or flowers... I will have to wait till spring I guess.

Doubt it's syzigium, or even myrtaceae by the leaf shape. They usually have a point on the end of the leaf.
Your photos aren't very clear so it's hard to tell if the leaves are compound or simple. Do you know which they are?

I believe they are simple, but I will break off a branch and take a better photo with a better background tonight.

My last photos were terrible.

I might need to collect some seeds as well as dig it. Has anyone tried to bonsai it?
