I have a Murraya Paniculata stump that I will be working on in Spring/Summer.
I have been searching high & low for information on ramification with plants with a compound leaf.
Can anyone direct me to an information source?

I have a couple of smaller Murraya... Not that k can see the compound leaf, mind you.

Just treat a compound leaf like any other leaf. You can defoliate Murraya easily too.

I just remove the second leaf as they are larger than the first one.
Cut back shotts and branches to develop ramificatuon as usual with any other tree

I have just taken a happy-snap of my Murray p. dwarf: Which is the 'second' leaf?

the one circled in Red I consider the "second leaf" it is the one that comes the middle of the first pair. ( Ok technically it is the third leaf), but the other 2 (in green) come out together and are always smaller.
the red one is stronger and elongates much more.

Yep the ones in red.
removing them will cause the others to stop increasing in size and promote back budding for ramification.

it depends on whether you want the trunk to thicken reasonably quickly, or whether you want to keep the plant small and tight. You can let Murray's grow long to thicken them, then cut back hard once a year. The continual pinching is useful after you've made an interesting trunk - that's when you pinch for smaller leaves.

Yep totally agree.
I assumed that the trunk and branching has been finished and now into the foliage control stage of the tree. No point in trying to control the foliage if it is not ready, but that applies to all species of trees we use as Bonsai.

But lost on this one! I'd like to make it a small tree 100-150mm max., but it's terribly 2 dimensional!
I guess, if I let it grow for a season that would improve the trunk then cut back hard to control the size...
