New display/bench area - issues with Colorbond?

Hi all
Had to rebuild my display area as I had a new colorbond fence put in.
I have done a quick search on the site re anyone experiencing issues with plants getting burnt from the heat coming off a colorbond fence, but could not find anything. I have placed the benches at the back off the fence by about 800mm, but not sure if that’s enough? The fence builder told me it’s only an issue if the tree/plant is right against the fence but just wanted to see if anyone has had a bad experience with it burning little trees.
Cheers
Sasha

I don't think it will be an issue, the benches are set far enough back and there is plenty of greenery there to help reduce the temp.
Looks fabtastic

I wouldn't have thought you would have a problem with that. Plenty of space between fence and trees...

My main sunny grow bench is up against a pale colourbond fence. The trees are on the northern side of it and in Sun all day from about 11am. Only about 100mm from the fence to the bench and have no issues in about 7 years

If that is the least of your problems being in Canberra, then you have nothing to be concerned about....except that you live in Canberra.
I've never 'felt' the heat from a colorbond fence on a hot day that would bother a tree within 80cm. Do you realize how hot the fence would have to be to 'burn' a leaf from 80cm. You wouldn't have a fence left standing if that were the case.
EDIT - that is a nice looking setup of trees you have by the way

Awesome collection you have there. As mentioned by others, for a fence to radiate enough heat to hurt your trees that need to be much closer and your weather would need to be much hotter ...
Only concern of mine would be the logs/pipes on the edge of your trees - these are a tripping hazard and it would be a shame to drop one of your trees because you loose your footing on a rolling object!
oh boy, its too late for me! I've turned into a Safety Nazi

Was that comment necessary?

Sasha,
This was a cheap solution to my problem of the late afternoon summer sun. It is also good protection for the sensitive trees in winter.

Peter

Peter,
is that pre-rolled Polly pipe or did you bend it yourself (star-pickets in ground then bend pipe and place over Star-pickets)?
Looks pretty good and universally applicable!

Thanks Elmar, those logs/pipes were my string line just for the day to make sure I didnt take too much of the yard up, the wife only allowed me an extra metre.

There will be some kind of border placed in eventually.

Thanks to all that responded, seems its not a issue at all. I didnt think so, as I have some other trees that sit right against a metal garage wall and has never caused any kind of problem, my neighbour that has many fruit trees in his yard kept saying colorbond is different and caused him all sorts of drama.
