Shimpaku overhaul (originally styled by Kunio Kobayashi)

I was given recently the oppertunity to restyle a Shimpaku juniper that was terribly overgrown and was in serious need of being reshaped and given a clear direction. The tree resides in the private collection at Bonsai World in Jiliby, Ashley the owner entrusted me with the task of performing the restyling.
It was originally styled by Kunio Kobayashi in 2005 at the Flora Festival at Kariong when he was invited by the Central Coast Bonsai Society and Gosford City Council. 9 years on and a llot more growth and material to work, the tree started to take shape ... After working, i tried to restyle the tree so that it referenced what might have been envisaged for the tree when it was styled as raw young material. We deemed it safe enough to repot the tree as well, there was hardly any foliage removed and no major heavy bending performed.
Then with Fresh eyes the next morning i went about tweaking the design and removed a few branches and compressed certain areas.
so here is the finished product!
