So you may have all heard the news of the massive amounts of hail we received today!
My place got hit bad with up to 15 inches of ice falling in a matter of 10 mintues! most of it was about ping pong size down to a later dumping of pea sized ice! unfortunately my collection of trees got hit hard with alot of damage

The ice is still hanging round piled up all over the place after the temperature at mine dropped to 6 degrees! and stayed until an hour before nightfall when the sun came out but has then dropped back down at sunset!

Wow, that is terrible bad luck Hugh. Hope you can salvage them. Good luck......John.

Hi Hugh , several of my trees were stripped by hail in November 2013 , not much different to September at your place . The Azaleas recovered without any drama and a Black Pine that was reduced to one pair of needles recovered well after a fortnight under the bench with no watering ! Don't give up on any of them .

My Pear lost some flowers.

That is crazy! We've got the Aircon blasting away... And you have snow.

wow Hugh. That is amazing. I've had hail a while back this year, but nothing like that. I hope your trees recover.

That is a phenomenal amount of hail in a small time. Reminds me of the really bad hail about 15 years ago in Eastlakes, Sydney, when I was working in a bakery with a corrugated iron roof. Sounded like we were being bombed, then we went outside and every second cars windscreen was smashed in. Hail as big as apples in some areas.

Ill never forget that Hail storm.

It sounded like what I think a Tidal wave coming would sound like.

I was standing on my front porch and the puddles forming in the front yard were red. I was scratching my head wondering if it was blood from birds or something and then I realised it was the roof tiles eroding away!

It seems most of the trees where fine apart from a bit of leaf damage, a few of the more refined trees copped the worst of it, raw material has taken it pretty fine. time will tell over the next week or so anyway.
