Hi,

Went into Bunnings a week ago and walked past the bonsai section. I saw one and found that it is indeed a mallsai complete wth fisherman and fake river. What should I do ? help!!!

Not sure what you mean by 'dp' sorry? Do you mean your profile pic?

If so, you won't need to worry about cutting it back or pruning just yet as it doesn't look overgrown (really hard to see in the tiny picture), and I'd worry about getting those nasty glued rocks from the top, and into some decent soil. You can usually apply some general rules to bonsai bought from bunnings, first step will be to repot it (making sure its done at the right time of year), and get it in some decent soil mix. I'd then let it settle in the pot for a bit, before you can then looking into styling it. The idea is to get it growing strong again, as they tend to get a bid sad during their stay at bunnings, so we need to get it healthy first, before taking it further :) I'm not familiar with Serissa personally, but if you have a search of the forums you should find some helpful posts on them :)

Next time save your dollars and go to a bonsai nursery :) you can pick up a nice little bonsai there for the same price as the ones at bunnings, which are usually way overpriced for what they are. Don't worry though, we've all been there, I've lost one myself despite my best efforts at keeping it alive and never bought one from bunnings again :P

Also, you can find some more general tips here on Mallsai: https://www.ausbonsai.com.au/wiki/index. ... he_mallsai
