I wasn't sure if I should post this in the Australian Native section, or in the progression section as this is both, but if the moderators want to change it that's fine by me.
This Callistemon was dug in October 2012 from a garden in Goulburn. I needed to dig this to get at the one I really wanted but as happens this is OK I think.
I am unsure of the species so if someone does know I would appreciate that.
In September this year I was privileged to attend a workshop with Australian native plants that was organised by the Canberra Bonsai Society and the chief in charge was Grant Bowie. It was a great day and there were plenty of good potential there being worked on.

So I learnt that bottlebrush bud back very well and I was very pleased.

Following is a close-up of the flower and the leaves so someone mat=y be able to identify it?

Doesn't anyone know what the species is?

That looks like Callistemon "Captain Cook" to me.

I have one growing in very dry stony ground behind my house.... tough as old boots, but very pretty when it flowers. Rainbow lorikeets love it.

That's some nice stock you've got there. Pretty keen to see what you do with it. Have you got any idea what you want to do with it?
