After years of Bonsai, you think you are 100% sure what you're favourite species is, but then along comes something else that changes your mind completely.......??? It's yet another reason why I love Bonsai so much!!
Enter............. Ehretia Rigida - The Magnificent African Lilac .......No need for smilies here!!! PLEASE DO THE FLOWERS JUSTICE AND ENLARGE THE PHOTO. EVEN THE BUDS ARE BEAUTIFUL!!
P.S. The 1st photo shows the fruit that it bears which can be any number of colours as it ripens and will look particularly good when mixed in with the flowers

Hi there Jester,
Yes, I can see why you are so smitten with the flowers, but what does the rest of the tree look like? Never having seen one. Any chance of a photo of the whole tree?

Hi Cricklewood, and thanks for the comments. I am happy to get a photograph of the whole tree but give me some time for it to establish some foliage. The tree is only about a year old and to be honest with you, at the moment there is not much to see. Please be patient and I will keep you and everyone else updated on it's progress. What I "have" done is to include another photo in the original post of the fruit that it bears.
Cheers

Hi Alpineart , not much to show at the moment. As I was saying to Cricklewood, the tree, or should I say, shrub, is only a year old. Please be patient with me whilst some foliage develops. The current structure will not do justice to the magnificent flowers.
Thanks for understanding mate
