Fast Growth Method Progression

Hey Everyone
I thought i would start a progression of my attempt at the fast growth method that was described in this topic = viewtopic.php?f=12&t=3173&hilit=fast+growth+method
The stock I chose is a left over cutting from a trunk chop that I did two years ago. the cutting was about 50mm thick and 200mm long when I placed it into some soil just to see if it would take...............it did
and that is where it has stayed since.
I am using this method to introduce taper into the trunk by doing multiple ground layers, the original thread described a substantial amount of root growth in the process. Hopefully I can use this ti my advantage. My plan is to do a layer low on the trunk and in 6 weeks hopefully the layer has started to produce roots. at this point the trunk will begin to swell due to the root growth and then I will layer again just above the first and so on, until I am 2/3 up the trunk.
Hopefully the roots will fuse together as the roots from the layer above grow down and flare out.
I hope this works
P.s I will be watering this tree above a stainless steel sink and catching all the water runoff and reusing it to liquid fertilise my plants, Any thoughts on this as an idea? I don't use pelletised fertilisers on the surface of my pots as I find it inhibits the drainage of my diatomite mix. Hopefully this will be a good alternative.
