Half an Elm

I bought a tree recently from a local seller. He gave me a couple complementary trees. This small leaf elm is one of them. Quite big for a free tree but... half of the trunk is rooted...
Well. I spent over an hour working on it. Here is the result...

I cringed when I saw the first pic... But it cleaned up really well, what a sweet tree and complementary to boot.  :tu:

Yeah, I am happy that it still has a very decent base and root system. It still has potential to be a good tree.

Yeah, I never thought it could turn out decent when I originally saw the tree too.

Thanks for the nice compliment. The whole idea for us is trying to find a tree within whatever material we have access to. I guess I was lucky to find a decent one :fc:
