I recently dug up a large free Buxus and potted it in a large pot. Not sure what to do with it at the moment. There is a lot of trunks to choose from.
The tree was about 3m tall when I dug it up.
Any advice?

you should have saved the branches you cut off. The timber is highly sort after by woodworkers.

The most difficult thing to do after digging a tree with potential is to apply some patience. This tree will (should) shoot in many places and you need to allow the tree to grow where it wants to grow, and in turn that will make your decision making a lot easier. So just let it run for at least 12 months and then have another good look at it.

and while you wait as watto has advised ,you can pamper it with a touch of seasol here and there. Good find large buxus are quite rare

The point they are trying to make Homer is don't worry about that decision now. Let it recover before hacking any more off. Plenty of time to look and ponder any further reduction while it gets going again and if it does not survive the decision will not be necessary
In any case, for any of us to give decent advice on whether/ which trunks to remove/reduce we would need to see the tree from all sides. There may be a view where all 3 trunks make a magnificent statement - we just can't see that in a 2d shot from one angle..

OK, thanks. I'll let it recover and make a decision.

This fella has grown slightly since I dug it up. But is seems to be in a little bit of trouble. Most of the leaves seem to be dying. Anyone have any advice?
I water it when the soil gets slightly dry on the surface.

A bit of fertilizer wouldn't go astray. This is one of the reason we leave it for a while as the tree needs to find its own place. Sun, fertilizer and love should see this thriving by Christmas.
