Air layering :lost:

Can anyone offer advice/experience on the air layering of the following;

Fagus sylvatica

Corylus avellana

Both of these I have as specimens with interesting tops and boring trunks thus I am considering layering them off.

Any help is greatly appreciated ;)

Hi Damian,
As Ken has mentioned, the Fagus Sylvatica can be layered. The following article says they can be grown from cuttings, so they should layer okay.

Corylus avellana: The following article mentions a few methods of propagation. I think you would be able to layer, but you would need to try one and see if it works.

Thanks K.C. and Ray :hooray:

I will certainly be giving this a shot as there is little to lose and a lot to gain.

See it in 12 months :lost:
