Someone needs them gone and I got the opportunity to have them all but they are around 350kgs each so no chance of transporting by myself...so I yelled out to some of the guys I met recently who also love bonsai. We gathered this morning and managed to borrow a truck, a hydrophilic mini crane and got to work on them. Hard work but I am happy with my prize thanks to my good new friend. I got a reasonable first choice pick. Will be a nice tree I guess. The problem now is...to unload it!

What a great score kvan and i know you will create a great tree from this. A good thread to show progression on.

pretty sure I saw them on gumtree the other week but decided to pass due to their enormous size. Will be very epic one day! Just a bit too much trouble if you need to move more than a couple of times in a lifetime.

Just looked at those again and whoah they are massive and i'm a pretty strong guy. But stunning stumps. What kind of fig are they?

OK guys. Sorry for not updating the progress sooner. I didn't have time to work on them. Thanks gods, it has been raining a lot here recently and the branches developed quite decent to work on. This is my first branch selection. Hope that they will suit the design. I also had trouble finding a suitable pot for it. It took me over a year to find a 1.2m (W) pot around Brisbane area.

Do you think reducing the height improves the tree or not? Just a thought.

Thanks for the comments guys. About the height reduction, it's a great idea. However, as this stage, the branches are still short and thin. I need to wait till the thickness of the branches get proportional to the trunk then decide. At that stage, I guess the length of the branches will be kept longer. That may change the overall looks.
Just a temporary thought at this stage.

It's been raining heavily this week and the foliage has been pushing up very strongly. I think I will refine the branches a bit more. Will update if there are changes.
