Chop it hard and take a lot of cuttings then watch it explode with growth and a hundred new trees cos they will take in anything

Is that spag moss covering the soil ? I would remove it - I would be worried it will encourage rot. The pot is fine if you don't want the trunk to be any thicker. I feel it needs cutting back - it is too tall for my liking.
