ID Recent purchase

I recently picked this small plant up at a Nursery in NE Tasmania. The label had fallen off it , I have no idea what it is and neither did the Nursery staff. I understand from the lady at the nursery that it had been in stock for "years" .
It is approx 200 mm high , trunk dia about 1.5 cm , the foliage is dark green on top and a lighter green on the underside.
The foliage habit is to grow upwards from each side of the branch in a gentle curved shape.

I hope the photos provide sufficient detail for someone to assist with an ID for me,
Thanks

Thanks for the Id folks.
I have just done a little more research and I reckon I am prepared to run with Taxus Baccata,
Reading tells me its a very slow grower so I could be waiting quite some time to get to a decent size though !!!

Still not much else to do in my retirement !

Thanks KB

Definitely not a yew. Probably some kind of Picea like Mel said.

Hi kb bonsai,

I am leaning towards a greener strain of Picea Pungens.

Thanks Black Knight & Others.

I have had a close look at both options ( Picea Pungens & Taxus) . Have to admit that I am now confused. Certainly from photos on Wikipedia it could be a green hybrid of Picea Pungens.
The difference would seem to be whether my plants has foliage spiraling around 4 sides of new shoots or whether it it only aligns on 2 sides of the shoot.
(thats if my reading interpretation is correct).

Think I will have a closer look at my plant tomorrow but may have to take it to a Horticulturalist to confirm ID. From the reading I have done its critical to know which as they require very different light exposure.

Will post an update when confirmed.

Thanks kb
