Label says Spanish Dwarf Pomegranate.... absolutely no idea how it's going to go, but this tiny tree has a fruit on it!

I paid $22.98 at Plants Plus Loganholme.

the plant stands around 220mm tall.

Love pomegranates!!!
I have one full size and one dwarf. I find them very forgiving to work with, and the flowers and fruits are so impressive.
I'll be looking forward to watching this one's progress!!!

They make lovely Bonsai but look peculiar with a large fruit on them Having said that, the size of the fruit is quite a novelty. They collect well from old gardens and i have a lovely shohin.

Love to eat pomegranates!! I had to get a couple for the garden - full size, 'Ben Hur'.
Cuttings from summer are growing well and destined for small pots after thickening up in the veggie patch.

I just remembered I do have a full size pomegranate, but it's not flowered for me yet. I've also got an air layer going on it at the moment.... but yes, agree bodhi, the fruit does look too big, but I reckon it might be the last time it fruits for awhile anyway.... with my record it may not even be alive for much longer!

Anyway, I'm going to give it a go.

Reckon I might look at a broom style with this one... maybe

I find them easy to grow but hard to make dense foliage structures with.
Also some trouble back budding on older wood.

From what I've seen the twisted trunk look is often done with added seedlings wrapped around the trunk. Root graft? I'm not sure what it's called.

Since I'll be away at the end of August I'm posting this now, while I think of it. Nothing much has changed other than it's lost its leaves for Winter, and already starting to bud again.

This tree was affected by a leaf curl problem in the last week, so yesterday I chopped off as many of the affected leaves as possible, and sprayed with Mavrik. Today I gave it a very strong chop... down to two buds.

Looking more like mame than shohin....lol
