Tomktn...that is a fascinating tree. I love it too.

I don't know much about Maples but its captivating. When you get a lot more ramification and the leader thickens a lot more it is going to look beautiful. Well done.

Perhaps start a different thread for this though.

I dug it up around 2004 in Guildford.
It was planted about 30 yrs before that by a lady. When she passed away, all branches were cut off because it was on the way when the her son mowed the lawn.
I offered him a box of beer in exchange, he was happy.

Hi tomktn, this is a very nice trunk for a Japanese Maple . Definitely inspiration to get a trunk potted up here and progressing .
