Has any one atempted an aerial layering of any Protea. If so what was the result. If not would you think it is possible or would a cutting be better Im asking because a friend of mine has one, i dont know its botanicle name nor do i know what the flower is. I wonder if all protea's respond the same, let me know. Cheers!

try cuttings. I think ground layering works..... I cant remember now.
Didnt think they would be useful as bonsai, but do make great garden plants

Had 2 at my last house but never thought to try, Flowers are Waay too big for Bonsai. Dunno if the leave reduce well either

for a larger bonsai (ie. yard bonsai size) leaf and flower size wouldnt matter as it would be in perspective... IMO

If you want a large tree the go for it, but for me there are better options in the flowering shrubs that would look better.
From memory, the bark is plain to look at, but the shoot well from old wood
One I had in the yard was about 8 ft tall and maybe 10 years old, but the trunk was quite skinny. Gorgeous flower tho
