Melaleuca salicina/ Callistemon salignus?

A paperbark tree about 5m tall in my local park. No flowers, but has fruit:
I thought this had to be a broad leafed or weeping paperbark, but the leaves aren't right. Apparently, longitudinal ridges are a distinguishing characteristic of these Mel species. Like this:
The tree of interest has veins like this:
Am I right in guessing Mel salicina (previously Callistemon salignus)? The tree could well have been a cultivar planted by council some years ago. Located in a low lying area with lots of weeping paperbarks around. Any experience out there using it for Bonsai?
