I scored this Juniper from a garden reno around the corner from me. It survived and over the weekend i decided it was time to start playing...
Raffia wrapped, supporting wires, and a good old fashioned tweak.

Is it definitely a Juniper? I'm no expert but it could be a Cedar, Chamaecyparis, Thuja or similar?

Only my curiosity at work here, apologies if I'm off my face, hard to tell from the pics.

I'd say juniper.
Cedar (Cedrus) have longer needles. Chamaecyparis and Thuja have flattened 'bookleaf' foliage pads.

A basic line drawing for the fun of it of what I seen.

Hi Raymond,

How long ago was it dug? Hopefully what remains will survive! May need to let it sit and recover before considering any further styling. But we all know what it's like having 'the itch' hehe. Hopefully it doesn't decline any further.

At least now you can get a big old Jin on the right side :D Maybe bend it further into shape before it hardens off.

Good luck and I hope it pulls through!

Cheers,
Pearcy.

Nearly 12 months mate. the wiring and twisting killed it off. Gonna give it a good bend and use as a jin. Not sure what to make of whats left :lost: :lost:
