I have shown this plum before but only in with other plums so I thought it was time for this one to "go it alone".
I re-potted it this week (back into the old PK pot) because it was starting to lean too much towards the right, even though that is it's natural direction, and to give the roots a bit of a trim.
There was no reason for a pot change but I was interested in the pot as most of Pat's pots have a number on them, and this one does not (hope its not a fake??) so I have included a photo of the bottom of the pot and someone may be able to help me out?
This will not be given its annual hard trim until after it has flowered, and I will also do some wiring then as well to correct some direction issues.

It will look amazing when it flowers. Can you post some pics when it happens?

Hi Watto, Great tree. Can't wait to see itin blossom, please remember to share How hard do you cut back after flowering? And do you cut back every year?

Can't fake the quality of a PK pot I'd say it's just an earlier one, because it's also got the Mirkwood Forest chop as well, maybe before they started getting tagged with glaze identifying numbers?

Agreed great combo . I have about 20 of so of PAT'S earier pots I acquired off Cambewarra Bonsai when there were open. I think some of Pat's earier glazes were amazing and maybe a one off?. I was told that some were his "reject" stock but not sure if that's true by any means I'm sure Pat will chime in if he sees this

I will certainly post a photo or two when it is in flower.
I only trim to shape if I am going to let the fruit ripen on the tree but this year I do not plan to allow it to fruit so I will be cutting back to 2, 3 or 4 leaves with the idea of bringing the apex in much tighter.

Your pot is from my shed in Nowra which I left twelve years ago. When I moved to Adelong I started numbering pots primarily to have some sort of glaze record as it was about this time that I started experimenting seriously with ash glazes.The glaze on your pot is a very early ash glaze, I called, Colonial Ash.

Matthew....when I sold up in Nowra and went to join the Hippies in the bush, I gave Wade (at Cambewarra), a truckload of pots...seconds and worse, not imagining that he would sell them.....but, he was in business to make a quid

Well all the rain and wind over the past few days hasn't done my plum any favors, but it still gave a good show.
In a few weeks I will trim and wire to set its direction for the next couple of years.
