Denver Botanic Gardens, Colorado USA has a bonsai section as well as an extensive Japanese garden.

They have a substantial collection at this park on the outskirts of Paris. Many old trees originally imported during the early 20th century and a hothouse with tropical species. Can't really find much else about the collection online in English.

The most famous nursery in Kinashi Bonsai Village, they have a substantial collection of masterpiece trees.

I think maybe a further definition of formal display, maybe with an example, should be included. And maybe a sentence about trees being on display, not being for sale to count as a collection.
