This is my first shimpaku . I have always loved the foliage on these trees and last year decided to get one from my local bonsai retailer.
I had a plan in mind from a photo I saw .
Ive made pretty good progess so far . But as always very keen for some ideas to further it .
Thanks

Nice tree, good result.
Only suggestion would be to look at the smaller trunk on the left, not sure you need the additional small branch on the left. If it were mine, would chose one and keep the thicker branch on the right and mirror the movement of the main trunk. Don't be to hasty, cover the branch in a picture and see.

Thanks craig . Im sorry but you mean the small left branch on the left branch is that the one you mean ?
Keep the branch on the left that follows the main trunk shape ?
Ihave been possibly considering that , hanging on to them atm haha
I was pretty brutal on it first go . Its harder to grow new ones than chop off the old ones .
Thanks for the advice will keep posted

Nice progress. I would chop the top a bit shorter.

I think it looks fine the way it is. Once it fills out, it will look more "as one" (if you know what I mean).
It looks tall and elegant.

Agree, like the height and feel would not be shortening either. Beauty of bonsai, everyone sees something different.
Dibly_w, will try send a virt, as you say let the tree recover, you can gather the suggestions and decide from there.

I like the "little bit shorter" view myslef, but alos the left trunk needs a gently curve to match te one in the main trunk.
Get some thick wire and should be doable

Included virtuals for what I see in the tree, looking at it again a little shorter would be good but that should come with finer wiring down the line.

Thats awesome craig .
I do like that design ... how do shimpakus handle stress . I guess after what its been through over 12 months i should perhaps let it relax for a while ?
I agree with getting some more shape into the left hand branch and I like the virt with the far little branch removed . Thanks for everyones ideas its all appreciated.
